Dear Neighbor,
As we turn our attention to family, friends, and celebration, we trust our personal “safety net” to be intact. We can depend on those who care for us– that they’ll be there to catch us in the midst of a crisis or even minor life challenges. We can rest knowing that our children have gone to bed nourished and that we will celebrate the holidays with beautiful meals shared with family.
There are folks in our community who do not enjoy such a “safety net” of support but need it. These people may be elderly, perhaps disabled, a family in crisis, or possibly an isolated individual struggling with unemployment or under-employment and overwhelming expenses, unable to have access to enough food for themselves or their family.
In our community a dedicated team of volunteers at the Reservoir Food Pantry strive to provide a “safety net” accessible to anyone in Olive who needs it. Serving people in need from our community on a weekly basis, we offer fresh produce, quality dry and canned goods, baked breads, over-the-counter medicine, items of dignity (hygiene and grooming supplies), and toys for children. We’re open Mondays from 2-4pm rain or shine and most holidays behind the old Trail Nursery on Route 28, in Boiceville.
